Sarah Bhagat

Sarah Bhagat, Ph.D., is a General Partner at Sofinnova Investments based in Menlo Park, where she leads investments in the biopharmaceutical sector. Her key responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments in innovative drug development and healthcare startups, with a particular focus on novel therapeutics and biotechnology companies.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Bhagat has held strategic leadership positions such as Chairperson at Atsena Therapeutics and served on the boards of multiple life science ventures, including Aeovian Pharmaceuticals and Inozyme Pharma. She brings deep industry insight from her experience as both a board member and observer, guiding portfolio companies through critical stages of development and commercialization.

Dr. Bhagat holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a Master’s in Neuroscience from Yale University, as well as a degree in Entrepreneurship from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her interdisciplinary expertise spans neuroscience, psychology, and biotech entrepreneurship, enabling her to make impactful contributions to investments in transformative therapies and the advancement of the biopharma industry.
