Hitachi Energy has announced a strategic partnership with Blackstone Energy Transition Partners to expand and strengthen its Service business across North America.
As part of this partnership, Hitachi Energy will acquire a stake in Shermco, a leading provider of comprehensive maintenance, repair, testing, commissioning, and design services in North America, recently acquired by private equity funds affiliated with Blackstone.
The collaboration aims to expand service capacity and capabilities to deliver comprehensive lifecycle support for critical energy infrastructure, from power generation to data centers.
Hitachi Energy is also making a broader $1 billion global investment to expand its Service footprint, launch new digital service solutions, and grow its workforce, including developing over 5,000 additional service experts worldwide.

Hitachi Energy announced an additional $270 million CAD ($195 million USD) investment to expand its large power transformer manufacturing facility near Montreal, Canada, building on an ongoing expansion announced in 2024.
This investment is part of Hitachi Energy's $9 billion USD global investment program and is expected to nearly triple the Varennes site's annual production capacity.
The expansion will create approximately 500 new jobs and aims to meet the fast-growing demand for large power transformers, reactors, and HVDC technology, critical for energy transition goals.

Hitachi Digital Services has launched HARC Agents, a new enterprise platform designed to optimize agentic AI, enabling companies to develop and deploy complex AI systems in 30% less time.
The platform integrates four core AI services, including the newly introduced Agent Library, which contains over 200 pre-built AI agents, and an Agent Management System for unified control and observability.
This initiative aims to make AI enterprise-ready and scalable, addressing the significant market growth in AI (projected $630 billion by 2028) while mitigating risks associated with the high cost and complexity that lead to project abandonment.
