Steve Nguyen

Steven Nguyen is a director and fundamental portfolio manager at Causeway Capital Management LLC based in Los Angeles, where he oversees investment research and portfolio management for the firm’s global value strategies. His primary research responsibilities focus on the utilities and renewables, healthcare, and business services sectors, and he collaborates closely with other managers to optimize risk-adjusted returns using a combination of fundamental and quantitative approaches.

Nguyen joined Causeway in 2012 and has served as a portfolio manager since 2019; before that, he specialized as a senior credit analyst at Bradford & Marzec, covering high yield and investment-grade debt across telecommunication services, cable, media, gaming, insurance, and REITs. Earlier in his career, he worked as a credit analyst and portfolio manager in the corporate bond department at Allegiance Capital.

He holds a BA in business economics from Brown University and an MBA with honors from UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he was president of the Anderson Student Asset Management association. Nguyen is a CFA charterholder and has completed the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing, demonstrating deep expertise in both traditional value investing and ESG factors within his sector and asset class focus.
