Dimitry Dayen

Dimitry Dayen is a Portfolio Manager at ClearBridge Investments in New York, currently leading the Sustainability Leaders Strategy. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing portfolio construction, fundamental research, and the integration of sustainability factors for companies within the strategy, with an emphasis on leveraging both financial and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) metrics to enhance long-term performance.

Dayen specializes in investment across the industrials, energy, renewables, software, and environmental services sectors, focusing particularly on companies driving transitions in decarbonization and sustainable industry. His expertise includes identifying firms poised for growth through carbon capture, recycling, renewable energy, and emissions-reducing technologies, with an eye toward investments where sustainability factors bolster business fundamentals.

He joined ClearBridge Investments in 2014, initially as a sector analyst for energy, rising to Director and Senior Analyst covering additional sectors like renewables and software, before becoming a Portfolio Manager in 2024. His earlier experience includes senior research roles at Surveyor Capital (Citadel), Goldman Sachs, and investment banking at Merrill Lynch, all focused on energy and industrials. Dimitry holds a BA in Economics from New York University and is a CFA charterholder, widely recognized for integrating sustainability and traditional financial analysis in institutional investment.
