Omer Ijaz

Omer Ijaz is Senior Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, and Investment Committee Member at EJF Capital LLC and EJF Investments Manager LLC, based in London. In his current role, he oversees EJF’s structured product strategy and leads the credit analysis and structuring of Trust Preferred Securities (TruPS) CDOs and bank subordinated debt CDOs. His work is central to EJF’s focus on regulatory event-driven investment opportunities within the specialty finance, insurance, and banking sectors.

Ijaz specializes in structured finance and has led the design and management of EJF’s credit products, notably spearheading fourteen EJF-sponsored securitizations totaling approximately $4.5 billion. He also steered EJF’s inaugural commercial real estate credit risk transfer (CRT) trade and manages investments in legacy TruPS CDOs and select corporate debt.

He joined EJF in 2011, following positions at Merrill Lynch (as a summer research analyst in the Global Private Client Division), Citibank N.A., and Muslim Commercial Bank. Omer Ijaz holds a BA in Business Economics from the College of Wooster, and his expertise encompasses securitization, credit structuring, and the analysis of financial sector assets.
