Emily Howard

Emily Howard is a Senior Sovereign Research Analyst at First Eagle Investments in New York, where she has served since September 2018. In her current capacity on the Global Value team, she is responsible for conducting fundamental research and risk analysis focused on sovereign credit, macroeconomic trends, and country-level investment opportunities, with a particular emphasis on the sovereign and government debt asset class.

Her expertise centers on sovereign risk assessment and global macroeconomic dynamics, with extensive experience in emerging markets and country-specific analysis. Before joining First Eagle, Emily was a Country Risk Specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, specializing in international affairs and strategic risk analysis for nearly eight years, following an early role with the Inter-American Dialogue focused on Latin America.

Emily holds an M.A. in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with additional graduate work in International Economics and Latin American Studies completed at the Bologna Center, and a BA in French and History from New York University. Her contributions to the investment management industry reflect deep sector expertise in sovereign debt and a strong command of international economics and policy analysis.
