Matthew Shannon

Matthew Shannon is a Portfolio Manager for Small Cap, Mid Cap, and SMID Cap Equity strategies at Glenmede Investment Management, LP, headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. In his current role, he leads the management and investment selection process for portfolios focused on U.S. small- to mid-capitalization equities, serving the needs of institutional and high-net-worth clients. His expertise encompasses fundamental security analysis as well as portfolio construction across these specialized equity segments.

Prior to his appointment as Portfolio Manager in 2022, Matthew served as a Research Analyst covering small, mid, and SMID cap equities at Glenmede Investment Management from 2014 to 2022 and began his tenure at the firm as a Portfolio Management Associate at The Glenmede Trust Company, N.A.. Throughout his career, he has developed significant experience in deep fundamental research, sector analysis, and the integration of quantitative and ESG considerations for U.S. equity investments.

Matthew holds a BS in Finance with a minor in Statistics from Penn State University and is a CFA charterholder. He is recognized for his detailed sector analysis and leadership in managing portfolios that require nuanced understanding of the dynamics within the U.S. small and mid-cap equity universe, including industrials, healthcare, technology, and consumer sectors.
