David Salmon

David Salmon is a Partner and Managing Director at PhiloSmith & Company (also referred to as PHILOSMITH CAPITAL CORP), based in Stamford, CT. In his current role, he oversees the firm’s day-to-day M&A advisory activities and cultivates client relationships, having led or assisted on over 30 transactions ranging in value from $2 million to $70 million. His work is highly specialized in the insurance sector, particularly with insurance agents, brokers, and companies, focusing on mergers and acquisitions within the insurance distribution space.

Prior to joining PhiloSmith in 2009, Mr. Salmon was an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Jefferies & Company. He brings deep expertise in deal structuring, market analysis, and transaction execution for insurance and financial services clients. Throughout his tenure, he has played a pivotal role in expanding PhiloSmith's advisory business within the insurance distribution industry.

Mr. Salmon earned his A.B. in Economics with a concentration in Financial Markets, graduating magna cum laude from Colby College. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 registrations, underscoring his professional qualifications in investment banking. His notable achievements include significant contributions to industry M&A activity and thought leadership in insurance agent and broker consolidation trends.
