Jeffery Timlin

Jeffery S. Timlin, CFA, CMT, is Managing Partner at Sage Advisory in Austin, Texas, where he plays a key leadership role in overseeing investment strategies and portfolio management for the firm. He is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and serves as a Portfolio Manager specializing in tax-exempt fixed income strategies, with a particular emphasis on municipal bonds and asset allocation for institutional and retirement-focused clients.

Timlin’s career in investment management spans over 25 years. Prior to joining Sage Advisory in 2003, he served as a Fixed Income Associate Trader at MFS Investment Management in Boston, and began his career as a Client Account Manager at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in 1997. His core areas of expertise include fixed income portfolio management, municipal securities, and disciplined, emotionally informed investment processes.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University and is both a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). Timlin is actively involved in several professional associations, including the CFA Institute, Market Technicians Association, National Federation of Municipal Analysts, and Southern Municipal Finance Society.
