Sowmdeb Sen

Sowmdeb Sen, Ph.D., is Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Silvant Capital Management LLC in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, he leads investment decision-making for several growth equity strategies and plays a critical part in the firm’s fundamental, bottom-up, team-based investment process. He is specifically responsible for sector coverage in consumer discretionary, communication services, and financials, and manages both large cap core growth and mid-cap growth portfolios.

Sen boasts over 20 years of experience in growth investing and is renowned for his analytical rigor in identifying companies with above-average sustainable earnings growth, disruptive business models, and favorable secular trends. At Silvant, he applies a style-agnostic investment philosophy, casting a wide net across all major index sectors to uncover stock-specific alpha while minimizing thematic and style risk.

Prior to joining Silvant, Sen held notable academic and entrepreneurial roles, including as teaching faculty at Kennesaw State University’s Coles College of Business and as a business owner. He holds a master’s in Mathematical Finance from the University of Southern California, a master’s in Mathematics from IIT Bombay, and a master’s in Economics from the University at Buffalo, further establishing his expertise in quantitative and macroeconomic analysis.
