Drew Nelson

Drew K. Nelson, MS, CPA, CFA, is Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Sentinel Trust Company, LBA in Houston, Texas. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing multi-asset class client investment portfolios, including public equities, hedge funds, private equity, and fixed income, working closely with the Chief Investment Officer to oversee both internally and externally managed investment vehicles.

Nelson's investment expertise spans a broad spectrum, with specific focus on public equities, hedge funds, private equity, and fixed income asset classes. His previous roles include Investment Operations Analyst at Bridgeway Capital Management, where he managed operational efficiencies for multi-billion dollar mutual funds and separately managed accounts, and Controller/Chief Compliance Officer at BlackGold Capital Management, overseeing all investment operations and compliance of a $1.2 billion alternative asset manager. He began his career as an Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in investment management clients.

He holds a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, both from Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, graduating cum laude. He is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant. Nelson is recognized for his professional focus on operational excellence, compliance, and multi-asset portfolio management, and is active in the investment community, serving organizations such as the CFA Society of Houston and the Association of Former Yell Leaders.
