Bob Atchinson

Bob Atchinson is Managing Director and Co-Founder at Adage Capital Management, where he serves as Portfolio Manager and Equity Analyst. With over four decades of investment experience, he is responsible for overseeing investments in the aerospace, machinery, conglomerate, and electrical equipment sectors. At Adage, he has helped the firm manage billions of dollars in domestic equities for hundreds of foundations and endowments.

Before founding Adage Capital Management in 2001, Atchinson was a Senior Vice President and Head of the Select Equity Group at Harvard Management Company and also held roles at State Street Research. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a B.A. from Hartwick College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Atchinson is recognized for his significant contributions to institutional investment management, particularly within U.S. equities. He is also active in several non-profit and advisory roles, including serving on boards at Mass Eye and Ear, Mass General Brigham, and the Campaign for Catholic Schools.
