Erik Kriessmann

Erik Kriessmann is a partner at Altimeter Capital Management, based in San Francisco, where he leads investments into high-growth technology companies, with a particular emphasis on real-world sectors such as defense, aerospace, AI, and advanced energy systems. At Altimeter since 2023, he is responsible for sourcing, executing, and supporting investments—often writing $100M+ checks—and for helping portfolio companies recruit and retain world-class talent.

His investment portfolio includes notable companies such as Anduril Industries, SpaceX, K2 Space Corporation, Base Power, and Faire, reflecting deep experience in sectors like defense-tech, space, and next-generation infrastructure. Kriessmann also serves on boards and as a Board Observer, actively shaping the scaling strategies and talent approach of these industry leaders.

Previously, Kriessmann held key investment and operational roles at prominent venture capital firms such as Index Ventures—where he was VP and co-led investments like Bridge’s $1.1B exit to Stripe—and Khosla Ventures. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and is recognized in the industry for integrating a founder-first, talent-centric philosophy into concentrated investment strategies in transformative technology fields.
