Ty DeBoer

Ty DeBoer is an Investment Analyst at Appaloosa Management LP, a New York-based hedge fund, where he has served since June 2022. In this capacity, he is involved in sourcing, analyzing, and managing investments across the firm’s multi-strategy portfolio, working alongside a lean team at one of the industry's most prominent hedge funds.

DeBoer's investment focus centers on distressed and event-driven credit, as well as equity opportunities, leveraging his prior experience in special situations, stressed credit, and corporate restructuring. Before joining Appaloosa, he was a Principal at Iron Park Capital and a Senior Analyst at Axar Capital, both firms with a particular emphasis on opportunistic and credit-focused investments in the U.S. middle market and large-cap sectors.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. With more than a decade of experience, DeBoer has built a reputation for rigorous analysis in complex capital structures, contributing to institutional investment decision-making across public and private markets.
