Jeff Kivitz

Jeff Kivitz is Chief Investment Officer and Investment Partner at Canyon Partners, LLC, based in New York. He leads the firm's investment activities across hedge funds, private credit, opportunistic funds, and CLOs, with direct responsibility for Canyon's allocations in the financials, technology, consumer & retail, and real estate investment trust (REIT) sectors. As CIO, he plays a key role in firm-wide strategy, product launches, and managing Canyon’s growing platform of private market funds.

Before his current appointment, Mr. Kivitz advanced through several senior leadership roles at Canyon Partners, including Co-Head of Private Credit, Managing Director, and Senior Vice President, after joining the firm in 2008. His sector expertise encompasses REITs, technology, software, and building products, and he has contributed significantly to Canyon’s reputation in credit investing and alternative asset management.

Mr. Kivitz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Williams College and is recognized for his strong analytical approach and leadership within the investment industry. His board service—such as his role with CBL Properties—reflects his influence and standing in the real estate and financial sectors.
