Brett Erkman

Brett Erkman is a Managing Director at Deep Track Capital, LP, a New York-based investment firm focused exclusively on the life sciences sector, particularly biotechnology. At Deep Track, he is responsible for leading investments in innovative public and pre-IPO biotechnology companies, with an emphasis on building long-term partnerships and contributing strategic financial expertise to the firm’s portfolio companies.

With over two decades of experience in healthcare finance, Brett has dedicated the majority of his career to investing in biotechnology companies and the financial aspects of drug discovery and development. Prior to joining Deep Track in October 2022, he spent more than fifteen years as a Managing Director at Great Point Partners, where he focused on equity long/short hedge fund strategies targeting biotech. Earlier roles include serving as a sell-side research associate at ThinkEquity Partners and as a senior financial analyst in global pharmaceutical R&D at Abbott Laboratories.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from DePaul University, providing him with a strong analytical foundation for his investment work. Notably, his track record includes substantial long-term investments in sector leaders, such as his early and continued involvement in Dynavax Technologies.
