Sachin Gupta

Sachin Gupta is Managing Director at Fir Tree Capital Management LP in New York, where he leads investment efforts with a focus on alternative assets and complex credit strategies. At Fir Tree, he has specialized in evaluating opportunities across public and private credit, distressed assets, and special situations, leveraging deep analytical expertise to drive value for institutional clients including endowments, foundations, and pension funds.

Prior to joining Fir Tree in 2018, Mr. Gupta held investment roles at Oaktree Capital Management and Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. (GMO), gaining broad experience across fixed income, corporate credit, and equity analysis. He began his career as an analyst at Cerrano Capital and also completed internships at Citadel and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, further honing his analytical and research capabilities.

Mr. Gupta earned both his undergraduate degree and MBA from Harvard University, with an academic concentration in quantitative analytics, corporate finance, and economic research. Notably, he has been recognized for his leadership in launching innovative credit strategies and most recently is credited with spearheading high-profile investment initiatives within Fir Tree. In 2025, he transitioned to founding his own credit-focused firm, Covara Capital, with backing from major institutional investors.
