Hara Takafumi

Takafumi Hara is an Equity Analyst at Indus Capital Partners, based in Tokyo. Since joining Indus Capital in 2018, he has been responsible for researching Japanese equities, with a particular focus on the auto-parts industry as well as precision equipment and electronic components sectors. His role includes conducting deep, fundamental research to identify investment opportunities in these industries, leveraging both local and global perspectives.

Prior to joining Indus Capital Partners, Mr. Hara was a lead analyst at Goldman Sachs in Tokyo, where he covered the Japan auto-parts sector, precision equipment, and electronic components. Earlier in his career, he worked at Citibank Japan as part of the financial strategy team, advising on corporate debt financing and M&A transactions. These experiences have given him comprehensive expertise in Japanese industrials and technology sectors, as well as a strong background in corporate finance and strategic advisory.

Mr. Hara holds a B.A. in Law from the University of Tokyo. He is recognized for his analytical rigor and understanding of Japan's manufacturing and technology landscape, contributing significantly to sector-focused investment research and capital allocation decisions at Indus Capital Partners.
