Erik Falk

Erik Falk is the Head of Strategy and a Partner at Magnetar Capital, an alternative asset manager with over $13 billion in assets under management, headquartered in the Chicago area. In this role, he leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives, primarily within the firm’s Alternative Credit and Fixed Income business lines, where he leverages deep experience in credit and asset management.

Falk’s investment focus centers on alternative credit markets, structured finance, and fixed income strategies, making him a significant figure in the private debt and credit sector. Before joining Magnetar in 2017, he was a senior executive at Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Co. (KKR), where he contributed to the growth of KKR’s credit platform, and he has also served as a Senior Advisor at Star Mountain Capital.

He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University. Over nearly three decades in financial services, Falk has built a reputation for leadership in credit markets, serving on both investment committees and corporate boards, and driving strategic innovation in alternative asset management.
