Michael Henriques

Michael Henriques is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Partner at Magnetar Capital, based in New York, NY. He specializes in the Alternative Credit and Fixed Income business, with a core focus on specialty finance, mortgage and real estate assets, and structured securities investments. Henriques is also active in Magnetar’s Investment, Management, and New Business and Ethics Committees, guiding investment strategy and risk oversight for the firm.

Henriques brings nearly three decades of expertise in fixed income, structured securities, mortgage bonds, and whole loans. Prior to joining Magnetar Capital in 2007, he was the Managing Director of the Special Situations Group at Deutsche Bank, where he built a proprietary investing business in structured finance, and previously spent over ten years at Goldman Sachs, holding senior roles in the Whole Loan Desk and the CDO and Synthetic ABS group. These roles gave him deep experience investing across debt, equity, and asset purchase vehicles, particularly in illiquid and non-performing mortgage portfolios.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University. Recognized for his leadership in structured credit and alternative investments, Henriques has made significant contributions to the development of investment strategies in specialty finance, mortgage securities, and other real estate-related asset classes.
