Scott Grossman

Scott Grossman is a seasoned investment professional who served as a Portfolio Manager at Magnetar Capital (also referred to as Magnetar Financial LLC), an alternative asset manager headquartered in the Chicago area, from 2006 to 2013. At Magnetar, he managed investments spanning both public and private companies, using a fundamental, hands-on approach across the capital structure—including debt and equity, with exposure to long/short strategies and distressed/turnaround opportunities.

Grossman's investment focus has been on sectors experiencing transformative change, particularly within consumer markets, cannabis, and companies at the intersection of major secular themes. He pioneered a “friendly activist” investment style and later spun out his own firm, Vindico Capital, applying these strategies to catalyze value and drive operational improvements. His expertise also encompasses mergers and acquisitions, growth equity, and board-level advisory roles, informed by experience at firms such as Soros Fund Management and Merrill Lynch.

He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics from Columbia University. Throughout his career, Grossman is known for his constructivist investment approach, driving performance by leveraging a deep fundamental toolkit and partnering with management teams to unlock value in both legacy and emerging sectors.
