Andrew Szmulewicz

Andrew Szmulewicz is the Co-Head and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Emerging Markets Debt team at Marathon Asset Management, based in New York. He has been with Marathon since 2014, where he oversees the firm’s global Emerging Markets debt investment strategies and serves as a member of Marathon's Executive Committee. His responsibilities involve managing long-only emerging markets investment programs, with a particular focus on hard currency debt across sovereign, quasi-sovereign, and corporate issuers within the emerging markets universe.

Before joining Marathon, Andrew Szmulewicz held senior positions at J.P. Morgan, focusing on index research and the development of structured credit and fixed income products, where he developed extensive expertise in global bond indices and emerging market debt analytics. His career reflects deep knowledge in emerging markets credit, portfolio optimization, and index strategy construction.

Andrew holds an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan. He is recognized within the asset management industry for delivering top-quartile returns, contributing to the design and implementation of Marathon's leading emerging markets bond strategies, and for his disciplined, data-driven investment approach.
