Jason Friedman

Jason Friedman is a Partner at Marathon Asset Management based in New York, where he serves as Executive Global Head of Business Development and is a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees. In this leadership capacity, he drives Marathon’s strategic client relationships, fundraising, and expansion initiatives across the firm’s global platform, directly contributing to key capital allocation and investment decisions.

Friedman specializes in corporate credit, opportunistic and distressed investing, and complex recapitalizations, with a focus on sectors supported by secular growth drivers but facing cyclical or structural headwinds. His work encompasses U.S. and international credit markets, particularly within distressed debt, asset-based lending, and special situations that require tailored capital solutions—including restructurings, debtor-in-possession financing, and exit financing for companies undergoing transformational change.

Before his current appointment, Friedman held positions as Head of Corporate Credit Strategy and Business Development at Marathon, contributing to the firm’s evolution into a diversified global credit investment manager. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University, reflecting his expertise in business strategy, capital markets, and credit investing.
