James Wright

James Wright is an incoming Trading Associate at PEAK6, based in San Diego, CA, beginning his role in October 2024. In this capacity, he is expected to focus on quantitative trading strategies, leveraging advanced data analytics and computational methods to support decision-making and portfolio management. His expertise centers on equities and derivative markets, reflecting the primary asset classes and sectors traditionally managed by PEAK6.

Previously, James interned on the trading desks at Citi and Trillium Trading, where he was involved in market analysis, order execution, and strategy development specifically in equities trading. At Citi, his responsibilities included supporting institutional clients and assisting with trade operations, further deepening his exposure to the financial markets, particularly within US equities and structured financial products.

James holds a B.S. in Computational and Applied Mathematics and a B.A. in Economics with a Data Science concentration from the University of Chicago, as well as completing the Financial Markets Program at Chicago Booth. This educational background underpins his proficiency in quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, and financial data analysis—a skill set well-suited to the technology-driven investment environment at PEAK6.
