Dave Haufe

Dave Haufe is the Chief Technology Officer at Simplex Trading LLC, a proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, where he oversees the firm's comprehensive technology program and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the broader business. In addition to leading technology strategy, he works closely with trading and development teams to build, test, and deploy high-performance trading software tailored for financial markets, enabling the firm to optimize trading strategies and execution across multiple asset classes, with a core focus on options and equities markets.

With a career at Simplex Trading dating back to 2008—as a Software Engineer before advancing to CTO in 2011—Dave demonstrates deep expertise in financial technology, automation, and quantitative trading systems. He also serves as a board member at Matrix Executions, which operates in electronic trading and execution services.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Throughout his tenure, he has driven innovation in trading automation and technology infrastructure, contributing to Simplex Trading’s reputation as an industry leader in technology-driven, data-centric trading.
