Amanda Birdsey-Benson

Amanda Birdsey-Benson, PhD, is a Managing Director and analyst at Suvretta Capital Management, LLC, where she is responsible for evaluating and investing in growth-stage and late-stage healthcare companies. She actively oversees Suvretta’s allocations to biopharmaceuticals, life sciences, and healthcare technology, with a particular focus on clinical-stage therapeutics and innovation-driven platforms in dermatology and digital health.

Prior to joining Suvretta, Dr. Birdsey-Benson held senior research roles at established investment firms, including serving as Senior Analyst at Tekla Capital Management and Director and Senior Research Analyst at Mellon Financial, covering the biotechnology sector and specializing in public and private investments in diagnostics, orphan diseases, and various therapeutic modalities.

She holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Connecticut and a PhD in Biochemistry from Dartmouth College. Over her career, Dr. Birdsey-Benson has served as a board member for innovative biotech companies such as Veradermics and has contributed to numerous significant financings supporting breakthrough medical research and digital healthcare platforms.
