Ian Wallace

Ian Wallace is a Partner and Co-Head of Credit at Third Point LLC, a New York-based alternative investment manager, where he leads the firm's credit investment strategies. His responsibilities encompass oversight of corporate and structured credit, private credit, distressed debt, high-yield securities, and CLO (collateralized loan obligation) strategies. Wallace plays a key role in expanding Third Point’s credit offerings, including the integration of Birch Grove’s diversified credit platform to enhance asset coverage for institutional investors.

Wallace has a distinguished career spanning several decades in high-yield, distressed, and opportunistic credit investing. Before joining Third Point in 2009, he founded River Run Management, a hedge fund focused on high-yield and distressed investments that frequently collaborated with Third Point. Earlier in his career, he served as a Managing Director at Oak Hill, held Vice President responsibilities within the High-Yield Research group at First Boston, and worked as a staff accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co.

He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Wallace is recognized for driving innovation and superior returns in credit markets, especially across public and private sectors, and for building successful teams focusing on credit solutions and alternative asset classes.
