Christina Chew

Christina Chew is the Senior Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Water Island Capital LLC, based in New York, NY. In this capacity, she is responsible for firm-wide management oversight including client service and marketing, risk and operational infrastructure, capital raising, accounting, and administration. She also leads strategic planning and new product development initiatives for the firm.

Her investment focus is in event-driven strategies, particularly within merger arbitrage and special situations. These approaches enable flexibility across both equity and credit asset classes, catering to a diverse range of institutional and retail clients through mutual funds, ETFs, private funds, and separately managed accounts.

Prior to her current role at Water Island Capital, Christina Chew has held leadership positions in investment management, joining the firm in 2013. She serves as a trustee of The Arbitrage Funds and holds an MBA from The Wharton School, an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Columbia College. Her notable achievements include playing a key role in expanding Water Island's product suite, including the launch of new ETFs, and contributing significantly to the firm's growth and operational excellence.
