Frederick Simon

Frederick Simon is a partner at WEXFORD CAPITAL LP, headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut. In his role, he is responsible for overseeing investment strategies, managing client portfolios, and guiding the firm's engagement across multiple private investment vehicles. He plays a key part in the firm’s activities related to private equity and hedge funds, and is actively involved in board and creditor committee duties for various companies in which Wexford has held investments.

Simon has notable expertise in real assets, specifically real estate development and investment, as well as process industries such as maritime shipping and bulk commodities—including coal, grain, iron ore, bauxite, fertilizers, phosphate, and steel products. At Wexford Capital and its private equity subsidiary, his investment focus spans across finance, consumer services, and process industries, with an emphasis on alternative asset classes and maritime logistics.

He earned a BA in Media Studies from Union College and an MBA in Finance from Hofstra University. Simon’s career background includes executive leadership roles such as President of Cavan Maritime Ltd, and previously, senior lending and executive positions in real estate finance. He is recognized for his contribution to investment management and real asset sector development, and continues to influence Wexford Capital’s private equity and alternative investment activities.
