Joseph Jacobs

Joseph Jacobs is the President and co-founder of Wexford Capital LP, based in Greenwich, CT. In his current role, he is primarily responsible for overseeing the activities of Wexford’s private equity funds, managing investments across a range of industries, and serving on the boards and creditors’ committees of numerous public and private companies in which Wexford holds stakes.

Jacobs has a particular focus on private equity investments and has worked extensively on distressed situations, including bankruptcies and restructurings. His expertise spans real estate, energy, natural resources, and healthcare sectors, reflecting Wexford Capital’s multi-strategy approach and reputation for opportunistic investing in both public markets and private placements.

Before founding Wexford in 1994, Jacobs was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns, where he was responsible for all real estate investment banking activities, and he previously served as a commercial lending officer at Citibank. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, contributing his substantial leadership and strategic vision to significant industry transactions and restructuring efforts.
