Alex Sacerdote is the founder and portfolio manager of Whale Rock Capital Management LLC, a Boston-based hedge fund managing approximately $8 billion across hedge fund, long-only, and hybrid strategies. In his current role, Sacerdote leads investment decision-making with a highly focused approach on transformative technology sectors. His responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection, and risk management, primarily within the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industries, with core emphasis on software, semiconductors, e-commerce, cloud infrastructure, and artificial intelligence.

Sacerdote began his career as an analyst at Smith Barney before becoming VP of Finance at Interactive Imaginations, an internet advertising startup, and later earning his MBA from Harvard Business School. At Fidelity Investments, he distinguished himself as a sector portfolio manager covering both large and small cap technology funds, where he was recognized for early bets on high-growth internet and e-commerce businesses. His time at Fidelity shaped his investment philosophy around identifying dominant players in markets undergoing rapid technological change, applying a framework rooted in S-curve adoption and sustainable competitive advantage.
