Al Besse

Al Besse is a Founding Principal and President of Logan Capital Management, Inc., where he leads portfolio management and overall firm strategy alongside his fellow founding partners. At Logan Capital, he manages investment strategies across growth and value equities, as well as fixed income, serving a clientele that includes institutional investors, individuals, and retirement plans. His key responsibilities include overseeing discretionary investment decisions, coordinating model portfolios for sub-advisory programs, and maintaining close engagement with consultants and financial advisors.

Besse’s investment focus includes growth equity and value-oriented strategies, specializing in large-cap stocks, high-dividend yield companies, and fixed-income solutions. He is involved in the firm's broad coverage of sectors such as technology, consumer discretionary, industrials, healthcare, and financials, with top portfolio holdings historically including major companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Johnson & Johnson. He applies disciplined investment processes and a long-term perspective to achieve attractive risk-adjusted returns for clients.

Prior to establishing Logan Capital in 1993, Al Besse was a Portfolio Manager and Assistant Vice President in the Institutional Trust Division at Fidelity Bank (1984-1994). He holds degrees from Haverford College and The Wharton School, providing a strong foundation in finance and investment management. As a principal with a significant ownership stake, Besse has contributed to Logan Capital’s recognition for high-performing strategies and sustained growth in the investment industry.
