John Darling

John Darling is a Partner at Norris Perne & French LLP, an investment advisory firm based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. With over four decades at the firm, he plays a senior leadership role in client relations, portfolio management, and the strategic direction of the firm’s $1.1 billion in assets under management.

Darling’s investment expertise centers on equity asset management, advising clients on diversified portfolios of publicly traded stocks and related securities. He works with high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutional clients, focusing on long-term growth across a range of sectors within the U.S. equity market, balancing risk and return in accordance with tailored investment objectives.

Prior to joining Norris Perne & French in 1982, Darling served as an officer at Key Line Freight, Inc., adding operational experience to his financial acumen. He earned his bachelor's degree in Transportation from Michigan State University in 1966, and has since made significant contributions to the investment advisory field in West Michigan through his longstanding stewardship and client-focused approach.
