Mark Fleck

Mark Fleck is a Principal and Portfolio Manager at Patten & Patten Inc. in Chattanooga, TN, where he manages investment portfolios for various client types including individuals, families, endowments, foundations, and institutional accounts. His responsibilities include equity selection, municipal bond management, and tailoring investment strategies to specific client needs. Mark specializes in equity and municipal bond asset classes, with significant expertise in portfolio management for government and institutional operating funds as well as retirement and pension plans.

Before joining Patten & Patten in 2008, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Highland Capital Management in Memphis, where he contributed as a member of the Equity Investment Selection Committee and oversaw all municipal bond holdings. Earlier in his career, Mark managed investment portfolios for the State of Kentucky’s operating funds and served as Investment Officer for the city of Columbus, Georgia, advising the pension board.

Mark holds an MBA from The University of Memphis and a BS in Accounting from Christian Brothers University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He has served as President of the CFA Society of East Tennessee and is an adjunct professor of finance at UT Chattanooga’s College of Business, reflecting his commitment to education and leadership within the investment community.
