Jimmy McCarthy

Jimmy McCarthy is Vice President of Equity Trading at Penserra Capital Management LLC, based in Walnut Creek, California. In this role, he oversees execution and strategy for equity trades on behalf of institutional clients, focusing primarily on U.S. and Asia-Pacific equity markets, and leveraging his expertise in risk management, analytical data analysis, and fast-paced decision-making environments.

His investment focus centers on global equities, collaborating with portfolio management teams to deliver efficient and effective trading solutions, especially in high-pressure and liquid market segments. McCarthy’s experience extends to both sales trading and direct equity trading roles, where he has established a reputation for operational excellence and leadership within the trading desk.

Before rising to his current vice presidential position, McCarthy served as an Equities Trader at Penserra, and previously held roles in 401k product sales at Transamerica and as an intern in derivatives trading at R Best LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Wyoming and is credentialed with industry qualifications such as FINRA Series 7, 57, and 63, reinforcing his technical proficiency and regulatory expertise.
