Edward Shugrue

Edward Shugrue is Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at RiverPark Capital Management LLC in New York, where he leads investments with a focus on structured credit and commercial real estate debt. His responsibilities include portfolio construction, risk management, and developing investment strategies within the firm’s credit-focused funds. He is particularly active in the management of asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and other debt instruments tied to real estate and related sectors.

Shugrue brings over 25 years of experience in real estate and credit investing, with a background that spans CMBS fund management, property ownership, mezzanine finance, and special servicing. Before joining RiverPark, he was Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners and previously co-built one of the first commercial real estate mezzanine platforms while serving as CFO for Sam Zell’s Capital Trust.

He is recognized for his expertise in navigating complex credit and real estate markets, having overseen significant institutional assets for public pension funds and global investors. Notably, Shugrue has played instrumental roles in structuring innovative mezzanine and distressed debt strategies, contributing to industry best practices in these specialized asset classes.
