Daniel Morrall

Daniel Morrall is Executive Director and Co-Portfolio Manager at Sterling Capital Management LLC, based in Virginia Beach, VA. Since joining Sterling Capital in 2014, he has managed the Special Opportunities strategy within the Equity Opportunities Group, focusing on identifying value and growth opportunities across the public equity markets. His primary responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection, and investment research for the Special Opportunities Fund, with a specific focus on U.S. equities and opportunistic investments.

Daniel’s investment expertise spans more than two decades, shaped by prior roles as an equity analyst at Harber Asset Management and S Squared Technology LLC, where he specialized in technology-biased long/short strategies, as well as earlier experience as an investment banker at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and in software startups. He is recognized for his analytical approach to equity investments and his broad exposure to technology, financial services, and high-opportunity sectors.

He holds a B.S. in Business and Economics from Washington and Lee University, an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School with a focus on entrepreneurship, finance, and value investing, and an M.S.I.T. from Capella University. Daniel Morrall is also a CFA® charterholder, underscoring his commitment to investment rigor and industry best practices.
