Shawn Gallagher

Shawn M. Gallagher, CFA®, most recently served as Executive Director and Portfolio Manager at Sterling Capital Management LLC, where he led and co-managed relative value equity strategies. Based in the Philadelphia region, Gallagher was responsible for portfolio management of the firm’s U.S. Small Cap Value and Mid Cap Value equity strategies, co-managing both the Stratton Mid Cap Value and Stratton Real Estate strategies and sharing key decision-making authority over asset allocation and security selection.

Gallagher’s investment focus spans U.S. small and mid cap equities, with a specialization in value-oriented and relative value strategies, and notable expertise investing across real estate equities as well. Prior to joining Sterling Capital (via the Stratton Funds team in 2005), Gallagher worked as a portfolio manager for Stratton Management Co. and began his finance career as a corporate finance analyst at AT&T.

He holds a B.S. in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University and is a CFA® charterholder, as well as a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia. Over nearly two decades in the investment industry, Gallagher has built a reputation for disciplined, research-driven equity portfolio management, contributing significantly to the development of small and mid cap value strategies at both Stratton and Sterling Capital.
