Alex Sharata

Alex Sharata is a Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), where he helps lead the firm's growth-stage investing practice with a focus on the enterprise, fintech, and consumer sectors. Based in Miami, Alex works closely with both early- and growth-stage companies, serving as a board observer for firms such as Brale, DeltaStream, Grid, Snowplow, and Weaviate, and actively collaborates with notable portfolio companies like Courtyard, Datafold, Merge, MoonPay, QuoteWell, and VAST Data.

Prior to joining NEA in 2020, Alex was an investor at Vista Equity Partners, specializing in majority investments in mature enterprise software companies. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in technology investment banking at Morgan Stanley and was the co-founder of Fractal, a mobile app security company acquired in 2017.

Alex holds a BS in Computer Science and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University and is an alumnus of Sidwell Friends School. His expertise lies in identifying growth-stage companies beyond product-market fit, with a particular emphasis on those scaling rapidly and widening competitive moats, across enterprise software, fintech, and tech-enabled consumer businesses.
