Aditya Asokan

Aditya Asokan, PhD, is a Senior Associate at Samsara BioCapital, a venture capital firm focused on investments in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors. In this role, he actively participates in sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management, with board responsibilities at Palvella Therapeutics and observer roles for a range of biopharma companies including Abata Therapeutics, Alpha 9 Oncology, Fluent Biosciences, and ImmunOs Therapeutics. His investment activities specifically target innovative drug development, immunotherapies, neurodegenerative and autoimmune disease therapies, and other cutting-edge biotechnology platforms.

Aditya's career began in academic research, completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University focused on neurobiology, particularly microglial function, neuro-immune interactions, and neurodegenerative disorders. Prior to joining Samsara, he provided strategic consulting to several life science investment firms and co-founded the Mythos Biotechnology Fund at Stanford. His track at Samsara BioCapital progressed from Senior Analyst to Associate before attaining his current Senior Associate position.

He holds a PhD and MS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida and a B.Tech in Biotechnology from SRM University, complemented by postdoctoral studies at Stanford University School of Medicine and entrepreneurship training from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Aditya has leveraged deep domain expertise in biomedical engineering to identify and support breakthrough companies in biotech, earning recognition for cross-disciplinary insight and hands-on leadership on boards and in investment strategy.
