Cory Freedland

Cory Freedland, Ph.D., is a Partner at Samsara BioCapital, where he has served since October 2017 and focuses on investments in the life sciences sector, particularly biopharmaceuticals and related healthcare assets. His responsibilities include identifying and evaluating early to late-stage therapeutic companies, leading investments, and supporting portfolio company growth within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Previously, Dr. Freedland was a Principal at Sofinnova Ventures, concentrating on biopharmaceutical investments, and held similar investment roles at Novo A/S. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in healthcare investment banking at Morgan Stanley and conducted preclinical drug discovery research at Roche, with an emphasis on psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Freedland holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and a B.A. from Connecticut College. He has served on various boards and made significant contributions to advancing innovative therapies through strategic investments and company building in the biopharma sector.
