Daniel Partlow

Daniel Partlow is Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer at Advent Capital Management, LLC, based in Westport, Connecticut. In this role since 2011, he leads the firm's comprehensive risk oversight across market, credit, and operational domains, with a particular focus on convertible securities and related strategies for Advent's $9 billion asset base.

Partlow is recognized for his deep expertise in quantitative analysis and risk management within the convertible bonds and alternative investments sector. He co-authored the authoritative book "Convertible Securities: A Complete Guide to Investment and Corporate Financing Strategies" and has published numerous white papers advancing the field. Prior to Advent, he was Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer at Stanfield Capital Partners, focusing on leveraged loans, CLOs, and tranche investments, and held senior risk roles at MBIA, AIG, IBM, and other financial firms.

He holds an MBA in International Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri. Daniel is regularly cited in industry publications for his thought leadership on convertible securities, portfolio risk management, and capital markets, and serves as a mentor and educator in these areas.
