Jay Takefman

Jay Takefman is Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of Tactical Investments at Beach Point Capital Management, based in New York. In this role, he leads investment strategies focused on private equity and credit, overseeing tactical allocations and portfolio risk across a diverse array of sectors. His investment purview specifically covers founder-led businesses and companies in the lower and middle market globally, with direct expertise in consumer, manufacturing, business services, and real estate asset classes.

Takefman brings more than 25 years of experience in private equity, previously serving as Co-Head of Quilvest Capital Partners’ private equity buyout group, where he invested over $1 billion in middle market opportunities. He has held senior roles at Centre Partners and L Catterton, focusing on sourcing and executing buyout, recapitalization, and growth equity investments, and has sat on numerous boards spanning restaurants, urgent care, lighting, and franchising businesses.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Notably, Takefman has contributed to the growth of several public and private companies, building a track record in board leadership and direct portfolio management, and is recognized for his multi-sector investment expertise and operational acumen in both private equity and tactical credit markets.
