Joseph Collery

Joseph Collery is the Group Head of Trading at Comgest, an independent global asset management group, where he has led the trading desk since 2017. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing Comgest’s multi-asset trading operations spanning equities and emerging markets, with a focus on ensuring efficient execution strategies and integrating advanced trading technologies to support the firm’s global investment activities.

Before joining Comgest, Collery held senior positions including Chief Operating Officer at Dexia and Head of Execution and Securities Lending at Anima SGR, where he gained extensive expertise in building high-performance trading desks and implementing advanced order and execution management systems across multiple asset classes. His deep market knowledge includes managing trades in developed and emerging equities, highlighting a particular focus on navigating the unique complexities and opportunities associated with emerging markets trading.

Collery holds a Master of Science in Management from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and University College Dublin, alongside a Bachelor of Arts from University College Dublin and additional qualifications from Università degli Studi Roma Tre and Templeogue College. Recognized for his leadership and technical proficiency, he regularly contributes insights on best execution, real-time trade cost analysis (TCA), and buy-side trading innovations to industry forums and media.
