Ted Price

Ted Price, CFA, is Senior Vice President – Investments at Davenport & Company LLC, based in Richmond, Virginia. Since joining the firm in February 2007, he has played a senior role in portfolio management and investment advisory, drawing on decades of high-level asset management experience. He is recognized for his expertise in equity analysis and portfolio construction, advising clients across diversified equity and fixed income strategies for high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and institutions.

Earlier in his career, Ted was Founder, President, and lead Portfolio Manager for the $1.5 billion Evergreen Growth Fund, where he focused extensively on U.S. growth equity strategies, overseeing research and investment selection from 1981 until 2007. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Advisory Group at Wheat First Securities after starting as an equity analyst at Smith Barney in New York City, highlighting his long-term focus on equities, particularly large-cap and mid-cap growth stocks.

Ted holds a BA in History and an MBA in Finance from the University of Virginia, including an MBA from the Darden School of Business. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, he has contributed to both the investment industry and his community through multiple leadership and trustee roles in nonprofit organizations, reflecting a broad commitment to ethical leadership and industry best practices.
