Ayman Ahmed

Ayman Ahmed is Assistant Portfolio Manager at Driehaus Capital Management LLC in Chicago, where he serves on the Emerging Markets team with a focus on the Multi-Asset Growth Economies strategy. In this capacity, he provides leadership to the research team, identifies investment opportunities across asset classes, and is responsible for macro research—particularly regarding currencies and interest rates in emerging markets. He is also integral to the structuring and execution of trades for the team’s hedged strategies, including currency, index, and interest rate hedges, primarily within emerging market economies.

Before assuming his current portfolio management responsibilities, Ahmed was Lead Macro Strategist and Senior Analyst at Driehaus, where he led macroeconomic research and investment theses with an emphasis on cross-asset and macro trends. His earlier experience includes a role as Senior Analyst at Black River Asset Management, where he focused on global macro and emerging markets strategies.

Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Minnesota’s Curtis L. Carlson School of Management, along with coursework in applied management and pre-medical studies, and completed an exchange in international business at HEC School of Management. His expertise spans macroeconomic analysis, portfolio construction, and multi-asset trading, with a particular focus on currencies, interest rates, and risk management in global emerging markets.
