Bill Nasgovitz is Chairman and Portfolio Manager at Heartland Advisors, Inc., based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As the founder of Heartland Advisors, he leads the investment team and directly manages the Heartland Value Fund, with a primary focus on small-cap and micro-cap value equities. His disciplined approach centers on Heartland’s proprietary 10 Principles of Value Investing™, which guide the evaluation and selection of portfolio holdings.

With over five decades in the investment industry, Nasgovitz is a recognized authority in value investing for small-cap and micro-cap stocks. Nasgovitz began his career as a broker at Dean Witter Reynolds before becoming part owner at Dain Bosworth/The Milwaukee Company, later founding Heartland Advisors in 1983.
