Anna Damato

Anna Damato, Ph.D., serves as Assistant Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at Kennedy Capital Management LLC in St. Louis, Missouri. In her current role, she is responsible for selecting and monitoring securities, with a primary focus on the healthcare sector—including biotechnology and global healthcare strategies—across KCM’s Micro Cap Opportunities, Micro Cap, Global Health Care, and Biotechnology Sector strategies. Anna manages the firm’s Biotechnology Equity Research Fellowship and plays a key role in stock selection, risk assessment, and portfolio construction within these specialized segments.

Anna began her career at KCM in January 2023 after gaining experience through the firm's Biotechnology Equity Research Fellowship, which she now leads. Her investment expertise centers on evaluating biotech and healthcare equities, and she brings deep technical insight into complicated scientific, clinical, and regulatory issues facing these industries. Prior to her investment career, Anna conducted both preclinical and clinical research with a concentration in neuro-oncology.

She holds a Ph.D. in Biology and Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience) from Washington University and earned her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in Neuroscience from The College of Wooster. Anna is recognized for integrating rigorous scientific analysis with investment decision-making, helping KCM identify differentiated opportunities in the micro-cap and health sciences sectors.
