Sean McMahon

Sean McMahon is a Portfolio Manager at Kennedy Capital Management LLC in St. Louis, MO, where he leads the Micro Cap and Micro Cap Opportunities strategies. He joined KCM in 2005 after starting his career with an internship at the firm, and now oversees investments primarily in micro cap companies, with a particular focus on health care sector equities and related small-cap opportunities.

Throughout his investment career spanning nearly two decades at KCM, McMahon has developed deep expertise in bottom-up fundamental analysis and has played a key role in the firm’s research and portfolio management for micro cap equities. He is also an Assistant Portfolio Manager on the Extended Small Cap strategy, helping the firm identify high-potential companies across the lower end of the market capitalization spectrum.

McMahon holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and an MBA from Washington University. He is recognized for developing and piloting repeatable investment processes, mentoring colleagues, and shaping KCM's approach to uncovering alpha in under-covered market niches, especially micro cap and emerging health care-related stocks.
