David May

David D. May, CFA, serves as Vice President at Luther King Capital Management (LKCM), where he focuses on private client advisory and portfolio management responsibilities, leveraging decades of investment experience. He is based in Austin, Texas, and also provides senior advisory support at LKCM Headwater Investments, collaborating on private equity and venture capital opportunities.

May specializes in equity investments, with an emphasis on long-short strategies, alternative investments, and portfolio construction for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. His expertise spans a wide variety of sectors, including technology, information technology services, and consumer products, reflected in both his investment track record and numerous board roles at technology and consumer-focused companies.

Before rejoining LKCM in 2013, May co-founded Third Coast Capital Management, an Austin-based hedge fund, and Ridgecrest Partners, a New York hedge fund, serving as managing partner and portfolio manager at both firms.
